What is home visiting?
Life gets busy and when you add raising a child, it can be overwhelming. This is where home visiting program helps families connect with home visitors to make life a little easier. A home visitor offers advice from topics concerning breast feeding, nutrition, community resource and many more topics. Home visitors promote strong parent-child attachment.
Who is eligible for home visiting?
The Welcome Baby program is a free home visiting program that is available to pregnant women and all parents with children ages 0-3. you do not need to be a US Citizen to participate. There is no charge to our participants.
Our Mission
The Welcome Baby Program works closely with first time pregnant women, caregivers, other first time parents, adoptive parents and teen parents to build a positive foundation for their children.

- The family is connected to formal and informal supports in the community.

Families First Program
Families FIRST is a case management program of the New Mexico Department of Health funded by Medicaid to provide perinatal case management to Medicaid eligible pregnant women and children 0-3 years old. the purpose of perinatal case management services is to provide a voluntary home visit to eligible clients, to establish a medical home and to assist clients in gaining access to medical, social and educational services that are necessary to foster positive pregnancy outcomes and promote healthy infants and children in New Mexico.
Car Seat Program
The Welcome Baby Program offers a car seat distribution program to distribute reduced cost car seats and booster seats to low-income families who meet program requirements.
Early Literacy Program
Welcome Baby Program will provide free books to parents with children under the age of five.
Services
Parenting Classes
Circle of Security is an eight-session relationship based early intervention parenting program designed to enhance attachment security between parents and children. Classes can be provided individually or in a group and at the location of the parent’s choice. In addition to Circle of Security parenting classes, we offer Nurturing Parenting classes.
Medicaid and Health Insurance Exchange
Ben Archer Health Center has trained staff that can complete Medicaid and Health Insurance Exchange application for anyone who may qualify. For mor information please visit:
